Hard agree. The cascade of systemic breakdown and destruction calls for radicalism that has been entirely missing from liberal environmentalism. In my opinion, even socialists have failed to articulate a vision for saving the planet that isn't just environmentalism-but-more-so. This is why I believe a new movement is needed that articulates exactly what the radical political change we are fighting for: petrocommunism. you dig? https://thespouter.substack.com/p/petromarxismpetrocommunism-overview (I encourage you to dig in deep into the full petromarxism essay too)
This is so good, Justin. Every post has a reverberating ring of truth in writing that's stellar. If you were widely read your comment section could be good to meet in. I just sent a Recommendation, that's in the Substack system, to my subscribers, and hope they'll get it to sign up.
Excellent article, Justin. Some years ago in my former career as a graphic designer, I occasionally had the opportunity to do work for environmental organizations, including The Nature Conservancy. I believed in their work at that time, and felt good being part of that. I developed a friendship with one person who worked hard on issues in the Adirondack Mountains, a place I deeply love. Apparently, we are no longer friends, as he dropped his subscription to my work here a few years ago. I suspect my words hurt him. His lifetime of effort was one that led, here, to collapse, the slow death of compromise on that which cannot be compromised. There is no longer room for government cozy deals on the planet. We're in a fight for our lives. There is no excuse for not risking them now, because we are surely dead if we act in cowardice.
We used to think the issues were simplistic. Green or not. It’s been a learning curve discovering that was just another warfront. The learning curve continues where now we see it’s a bigger game we have to play. The plot thickens.
Had Justin expressed an interest in food?

Very kind of you to say Sue.
Fantastic Justin! Fired me up.
